Naked Yoga is a unique environment where men can work, sweat and breathe deeply—a special setting to watch, touch, and nurture each other mentally, physically and spiritually. Practicing naked affords us total freedom of movement while enjoying the sensuality of naked exercise among friends.

Naked Yoga Los Angeles was founded, in part, as an alternative to nudist clubs which tend to be dominated by out–of–shape men. In our first year, we admitted only very in–shape guys as members. In our second year, we admitted guys of all fitness levels.
In June 2006, the group voted to reinstate a stricter admission policy. Because of the long period when we admitted guys of all fitness levels, and because we still admit guys who are over their ideal healthy weight, you may see varying fitness levels in our classes. See the next section for exact guidelines.
While many of our members are nudists, we also have many members who join because they enjoy practicing Yoga in an all male environment.
Naked Yoga Los Angeles welcomes guys of all races, religions, national origins, sexual orientations and ages (18 or over).
The World Health Organization, National Institutes of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention all use the following Body Mass Index (BMI) as a determiner of healthy weight, fitness and reduced disease risk:

A separate application is not required to attend Level 3 classes. Once you are a member, you can decide if attendance at Level 3 classes is appropriate for you.
We are not rigid about BMI guidelines. For example, bodybuilders may be considered to be at a healthy weight, even with a BMI of over 25. Or you may have a BMI of slightly over 27, but a strong commitment to fitness with an intensive 5 day a week workout regimen. If you are a bodybuilder or have any exceptional circumstance, please say so in the comments section (last question) of your application.
We are, however, strict about the "great attitude" rule. If you are rude, unfriendly or make other members (including staff) feel uncomfortable, your membership may be terminated.
WHY DO YOU "DISCRIMINATE" BASED ON FITNESS LEVELS?
We have found, through trial and error, that classes work best when we focus on our core membership of in–shape guys. Widely divergent fitness levels can slow the pace of classes and make partnering difficult. Focusing on our core membership helps us keep classes challenging and unified.
You do not need to have a partner to attend. Most guys come as "singles" and find a partner in class. It's best to arrive early and ask someone to partner with you BEFORE class starts. If you wait until the teacher asks you to find a partner, you will only have about 30 seconds to decide.
Partnerships usually work best with partners of a similar stature, or partners of similar abilities.
We try to minimize problems by offering an option to refrain from partnering at the beginning of each partner section. However, if you do not feel comfortable being touched sensuously by another man, it's best to abstain from partner classes—especially Tantra classes. When you sign up for a class, it will be clearly marked in the class description if a partner section is planned.
Sometimes partnering is fun and playful. Sometimes it's more sensuous or even erotic, although direct genital stimulation is not included in regular partner classes. The level of sensuality usually depends on the positions the teacher chooses, and the chemistry between partners.
If you do decide to participate, it's essential to maintain an attitude of good humor and flexibility. You may not get the partner you want. Or you may get the partner you want, but not the level of sensuality you want. Or you may get the partner you want, but then the teacher or a staff member may switch you or rearrange partners for various reasons, including stature, ability or temperament.
Even if you do not find your partner attractive, it's essential to treat your him with the utmost respect and courtesy. If you are extremely picky about who you partner with, or feel that you can't be flexible, then please do not sign up for partner classes.
If a partnering situation becomes unbearable due to poor hygiene, or any other reason, please notify the instructor or one of the assistants as discretely as possible and we will do our best to remedy the situation.

Naked Yoga Los Angeles is a private club. You must become a member before you can participate in our events. To apply for membership, please fill out our questionnaire. Allow two weeks for processing.
After we review your application, you'll receive a membership number which will allow you to Sign In, view our on–line schedule and make reservations for upcoming classes.

Pictures give us an idea of your fitness level and body type. We also appreciate receiving face pics—they help us to remember you!
That's not necessary at all. We welcome newcomers into Naked Yoga every week, many of whom have never done yoga before.
Our Level One and Level Two classes are great for first timers and those new to yoga.
Most guys are nervous the first time they come to Naked Yoga. They don't know what to expect. Perhaps they've never participated in naked group activities before. They wonder how sexual the atmosphere will be. They worry about getting hard. They fear they'll be judged.
Most guys get over their nervousness within a few minutes. Because we are not clothing optional but rather nudity mandatory, the anxiety of sitting around wondering whether to take your shorts off is eliminated. Because everyone is naked, you just strip off and, in most cases, surprise yourself at how quickly you "get over it."
The teachers and organizers of Naked Yoga endeavor to create a friendly, non–judgmental atmosphere, and to offer as much personalized attention as possible. Being naked creates a feeling of camaraderie missing from many classes at gyms and other studios. And if you're worried about getting hard, you'll find that erections are very welcome at our events. Straight and curious men are welcome at Naked Yoga Los Angeles. However, please be aware that all classes may include some physical touch by other men.
If your comfort level with male touch is minimal, please do NOT sign up for Partner classes as these may include intimate and sensuous contact.

Yoga mats are required at our yoga classes. Towels or other kinds of exercise mats are not acceptable substitutes. If you do not bring a mat, you will need to rent one from us for an additional $5.00.
Yoga mats may be purchased at most sporting goods stores, yoga studios or gyms. Many internet sites also sell them. (Do a Google search for "yoga mat.") Choice of mat is a matter of personal preference—we do not recommend any particular brand or seller.
It's easier to balance on a thin mat (1/8"). If your knees are sensitive, or if your tail bone or hip bones are very prominent, then a thicker mat (up to 1/4") may be preferable. A 68" long mat is usually adequate. If you are over 6 feet tall, then a 72" mat is better.
Your yoga mat should be sufficiently sticky to provide traction. Some mats acquire more stickiness with use, so they may not be super sticky at first.

Erections are not a problem at all. They are part of what makes us men— there is no need to be embarrassed or try to hide them. It's doubtful that any of the other participants will react at all (except maybe to get hard themselves.)
In Naked Yoga class, you can be proud of your erection, enjoy having it and continue to follow along with whatever positions we're doing.
Most of us are taught to be ashamed of our boners in front of others. The only place we're supposed to have one is while we're having sex—and then there's PRESSURE to be hard.
Naked Yoga provides a unique atmosphere where erections are totally acceptable and welcome, without any pressure at all to have one.
It depends on what you consider sexual.
For most gay and bi men, it's sexy to be in a room full of naked guys. So you may feel aroused at some point during, or perhaps throughout the class.
Some classes include partner positions which can be quite intimate and sexually arousing, though they do not include deliberate genital stimulation (except Tantra classes.)
If you feel sexual during class, just enjoy your sexual energy and continue to follow the instructor's directions.

In order to protect members' privacy and comfort, we lock the door at the start of class.
Your reservation is guaranteed only up to 10 minutes before the start of class. After that time, we may give your spot to someone on the waiting list.
If you arrive late and get locked out, we may count this as a "no–show" and apply a cancellation fee to your membership.
To avoid disappointment, please plan to arrive at least 20 minutes early each time you attend class. Allow plenty of extra time for traffic and parking.
